不知道大家安装的时候有没有碰到这个问题

郁闷的要死，每次安装操作系统，就没有一次顺利的
经过查找资料发现Solaris 9 x86 已经改变了默认的ATA DMA 模式: 在S9 x86 上是enable的，在S8 x86上就disable的.

如果你的主板BIOS里有'ATA DMA'，'PnP OS' 的选项，请设置成enable，如果BIOS里没有这个选项，请在安装的时候在DCA的菜单里把 "ata-dma-enabled"由1 ->; 0 ，可以试试，我也没有试过这个方法
disable ACPI and option in BIOS. 

对于这个问题还有可能就是你的南桥芯片不支持IDE设备，请打itu.3的补丁，这种情况在dell1650，dell2650，dell6650...上发生的很多，请大家注意

You can try to disable the use of the pcplusmp module and the APIC, by adding 

set pcplusmp:apic_forceload = -1
